Diary - Tim Hetheringon (2010)
Almost two months have gone now since Tim was killed on Tripoli Street in Misurata, Libya. I remember the morning when Tim’s picture, together with his colleague Chris Hondros, popped up on the morning news here in Sweden. Impossible, was my first thought. But as the news came rolling in and more information came through, things just got a bit more real.
When I met him last October he told me, as advice to a young aspiring photojournalist, that the best stories aren’t always the most dangerous ones. I wonder what his advice would have been today, probably the same.
It feels like whatever I write here won’t add anything to what have already been said about Tim’s life and work. So, please take some time to read these articles.

‘Only the good die young’, someone said. I hate that expression. But I think that phrase was coined after events like these. War is never just.
