In my family we have always had this briefcase with old family photos. I have always found them really fascinating, but ever since my grandmother died probably even more so. There is a jumble of pictures of everyday life, parties and birthdays and weddings. Events that have been important to my family. Some really old, some quite new. Apparently my great grandmother Justina (the lady in the picture) took most of them. She never had her own camera but borrowed one from the local shop where she had her films developed. What a brilliant idea!
